Strange to hear about this lack of ducks in your supermarkets because they are still popular here. It was ok so far, but I fear & it's obviously so, heavy meals bring the mind into a near-death slumber. Not nice.

DirkNBhttp://herdnerd.denoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5407783074290571587.post-30245925915235805992011-12-05T01:07:36.114+01:002011-12-05T01:07:36.114+01:00I wonder if, pound for pound, ducks or gees have m...I wonder if, pound for pound, ducks or gees have more fat. Once or twice I decided to follow what I take to be the tradition somewhere or other where some branch of my ancestors one lived, and have a Christmas goose. Not bad, but there was a lot of fat. I understand that goose grease was once used to waterproof boots.

Anyway, geese, like ducks, seem to have become "as scarce as hen's teeth" in the supermarkets. For two people, of course, a goose would be too much, but a duck would be festive for New Years.

Maybe instead of bemoaning the lack of ducks in the market, I should occasionally buy a chicken.

Well, anyway, your duck looks good, and I'm sure the gravy was tasty too.naturgesetzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15268507379933286863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5407783074290571587.post-13008895082103911182011-12-04T23:31:21.390+01:002011-12-04T23:31:21.390+01:00War auch ziemlich gut (und immer noch zu fett). ;-)
Was gab's denn als Sättigungsbeilage?DirkNBhttp://herdnerd.denoreply@blogger.com
