This from a man who was dying, having sought refuge in the house of his brother, sick and poisoned by mercury, reading James Fenimore Cooper for relief - perhaps The Last of the Mohicans - and leaving to the world this unique piece of music (and other pieces, some lost) that touch the veil of eternity.

If there is an afterlife, and if I get to heaven, and if I get to keep my self (soul) there - all big, big if's - I would like to take a CD of the quintet along, just to remind me of what is was like to be human...
