4. Advent

roughly translated

The second to last post was about a tree that appears again today, what a surprise, once outside, then inside in the early stage of being decorated. The images of today's Sunday dinner will be framed a bit this time, why? Because they came out far from being pretty, only the pictures fortunately. I was persuaded to make a plain traditional duck again, stuffed with apples and prunes, served with Brussels sprouts, and it came out really nice, well I had to add some fresh lemon juice to the sauce. And then two images from the current window decoration and one from the snowed-in neighbourhood. It was a bearable 4th Advent, a visit could be averted, and my old mother had a moment of weakness, but that obviously did not diminish her appetite, so it was perhaps not as serious as it seems on first view. That's it for today, a pleasant rest of Advent my esteemed readers.

Markt und Straßen stehn verlassen,
still erleuchtet jedes Haus,

I hope your mother is not feeling any further episodes of weakness.

The tree is taking shape nicely. Looking forward to seeing it fully decorated.

did I mention that I found a frozen duck a week ago Saturday? I had to go to a meeting about 25 km away from here, and on the way back stopped at a supermarket which I thought might have some, and they did. I'll probably use apples and raisins for the stuffing. Plums are something I never buy. On second thought, with your suggestion in mind, I may remember to look for some when I'm shopping this week or next. My current plan is to cook the duck for New Year's Eve or Day.

@naturgesetz Thanks and I hope so too, I was in fact a bit startled, but she was ok again after some hours. Good luck with the duck, & don't forget to make a pic, I hope this is a good time for you.
