Sonntag &

poorly translated

Today we had many kinds of different weather, at the moment it is stormy and rainy; in the afternoon there were often moments of blazing sunshine and expectable following heat, taking pictures in such a moment is well, difficult. This means the table was almost half in the dark, because the terrace is covered, according to it the photos are looking strange.

The food was fortunately not rather strange, at least not in a dubious sense. Thank God! The beef this time was of really good quality, and the pork was fine as well. The whole thing had braised in the oven with onions, butter, fresh thyme, oregano and rosemary.

In addition chanterelles, just simmered in the pan and then deglazed with the gravy. They indeed might look strange a bit, because, when I started to dust it with some flour, I noticed I used too much fat. Great! So they would have to need much more liquid to create something like a sauce and it would still end up in a big mud, and that's something I hate. Therefore we see small lumps of flour since I just stopped it then. The taste wasn’t suffering from it, just the opposite, it was consistently acceptable (I hate to praise myself) what was acknowledged by the other side of the table voluntarily.

Glad the weather allowed a chance to have dinner outside. I didn't get exactly what happened with the mushrooms, but if, as I gather, they tasted good, I suppose that's what's most important.

I was too hasty and commented before the translation was available on this side of the Atlantic.
